Billboard Liberation is Alive and Well!

Brings me back to inspiring days in grad school, doing thesis research and finding treasure troves online of various forms of culture jamming.

Strap Down! Get Ready! Be Refreshed!

My most favorite band, meat beat manifesto, is releasing a new album and will kick off a spring-time tour! This includes a stop @ the Rock 'n' Roll Hotel in DC. A stereogab doesn't get happier than this. Do yrself a favor and check'em out if they hit yr town. During the last tour, the band played fantastic sets, all synchronized with sampladelic videos - mixed in real time (I believe using Kaos pads).

Check out a snippet from the new album and watch a blast from the past:

San Francisco, CA - Seminal electronic band MEAT BEAT MANIFESTO (MBM) has just announced live dates, supporting the release of its new album Autoimmune on Metropolis Records on April 8, 2008. "The live performance has become an integral component of my sound and production," sound sculptor and producer extraordinaire Jack Danger explains. What does Bowie think of this?

New Food Blog

Calling all gourmands. Mark Bittman (you may know him as the Minimalist columnist for the NYT has a new blog about cooking and all things delicious called Bitten.

Let's see, my Netvibes RSS reader now has a tab for work-related blogs, government info and policy news, philanthropy news, tech blogs, PR and media blogs, personal feeds (like Facebook, twitter, etc.), environmental news, economics blogs and now food. That's a lot of info!

I've been enjoying Bittman's show, The Best Recipes in the World (even w/its goofy intro) on PBS' Saturday afternoon cooking show line-up. I had the sniffles on Saturday and caught up on his culinary explorations. Now I want to go back to Barcelona and have tapas (Barb, eat enough for me!), make homemade raviolis with grandmotherly chefs in Italy, munch on Mario Battali's latest creations in NY, try nouveau American creations in Colorado... ; )

BTW, it's summertime in DC, and it's February. I can't tell you how disconcerting it is to wake up to very warm, muggy winds and forecasts for thunderstorms. WTF happened to winter?
