i shoulda posted this weeks ago. was so excited when i returned from denver. such energy, optimism. didn't last long, but we'll see. anyhoo, this was my perspective of the beginning and end of a very anticipated speech (that whole speech-diggin thing is still new to me, but even i got sucked in). it was a lovely late summer evening in the high desert.
oh yeah forgot to tell you about the vid's soundtrack. upon hearing my destination, a very excited jamaican cabbie (greenbelt->bwi) gave me a cd he had just received from a reggae dj friend. it's an infectious ode to obama.


...and i love how @iburiedpaul syncopated a monday night jam by 'the reverberations' from austin in july to vintage floyd footage. rip rick wright. i always did love echoes the most. check yr very own stereogab on moog (it was loud in that room, i had no monitor, so i let out some whooping squelches) - esp @ 2:50 it's pretty fun

What I've been up to

Just returned from Denver, where I worked a table for Sunlight at the Big Tent (a temporary structure set up for political bloggers covering the Democratic National Convention).

Started playing around with live streaming video via cell phone camera on qik as we shone a light on what really happens at conventions (corporate sponsored parties).

Here's a video my colleague, Clay, and I did on the fly...watch for one of America's sweethearts halfway through the vidi. vidi well, my brothers. vidi well.



and here's some video I shot of wyclef jean performing @ the DCCC party. it cuts off cuz my camera ran out of space (it was my backup) and his head is a little poorly cropped at times as i was trying to figure out why my nokia95 wouldn't live stream anymore to qik. no bars-AT&T failed! but it's still a good clip of him singing - and a sneak peek at a party for so called 'financial guests' and other party operatives.

i head to the twin cities on monday.
